Tonight we worked on Inayan Kadena De Mano, including drills and techniques that were originally taught by Great Grand Master Max Sarmiento. We then took time to integrate and contrast them with the "Kabaroan" and "Kada Anan" elements of the Inayan System of Eskrima. This was followed by a standard session of Inayan Serrada Basic techniques. With all the instructor's floating around and helping everyone get better at the finer points of their skill sets. Class ended with a very nice set of Lock and Block for Inayan Serrada. Each of the instructors brought their special insight and different feeding styles to the table, giving the students a chance to adapt to several different variables.
The best part of the class was how much everyone enjoyed class. It has become typical for the guys to continue a few minutes after class helping eachother review certain points of the class, junior students are often working with seniors to furter drive the lessons home, and the seniors and guros will often do a few more rounds of Flow Spar too. I enjoy this part of class, as I am usually getting the school ready for closing as well as changing into street clothes again. It is a nice backdrop with everyone working and sharing together.
Mabuhay Ng Inayan Systema Ng Eskrima!
